Sour, green, and your mum squeezes it on everything.
Ginger is in everything we eat. Halia in the soup, in the teh, in whatever your nenek swore would fix your cold. It's the flavour of home.
We also grew up on sugar. Malaysians get through about 57kg of it each a year, the most in ASEAN, and about half of that comes from what we drink.
So we started mixing ginger sodas in our own kitchen. Less sugar, loads of flavour. We've been tasting, tweaking and testing ever since.
We made rooboo for us. Turns out "us" is quite a lot of people.
